Sustainability Semesters - Not Just Another Workshop

ArtsBC presents the Kootenay Region Sustainability Semester to be held in Nelson, BC at the Hume Hotel on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, 2012. This event is being presented in conjunction with the West Kootenay Regional Arts Council.

Each day will begin with a complimentary continental style breakfast at 8:30 AM. Lunch will also be provided on Saturday, April 14.

Day 1: Saturday, April 14th

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Sustainability Semester at the Hume Hotel at 422 Vernon Street

5:30 PM to 7:00 PM - Social/Networking event at Touchstones Museum at 502 Vernon Street (across the street from the Hume Hotel).

Day 2: Sunday, April 15th

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Hume Hotel at 422 Vernon Street

Who should participate – Registration is free!

Priority for registration will be given to representatives from BC’s arts and cultural organizations living and working in the host region on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is limited. Please note we currently accept on-line registrations only.

We highly encourage arts and cultural organizations to register a minimum of two representatives, preferably three people per organization. The Semesters are more likely to have a positive impact if more than one person from the organization attends.

The Sustainability Semesters are suitable for staff, board and volunteers from both professional and non-professional, not-for-profit arts and cultural organizations including but not limited to representatives from:

  • Artist cooperatives
  • Arts centres
  • Arts councils including regional arts councils
  • Arts presenters including festivals and concert societies
  • Arts facility managers
  • Arts service organizations
  • First Nations arts and heritage organizations
  • Francophone arts organizations
  • Museum and galleries
  • Heritage and literary organizations
  • Performing arts groups

Please note all travel or accommodation subsidies have been requested. These are no longer available (at March 11, 2012).
